Junkers Ju-87A Stuka, German Air Force Dive Bomber, 1/24 Plastic Kit.
The Ju 87 Stuka dive bomber was one of the most famous bombers during WWII.
The Version A differs from the following versions mostly by the aerodynamic faring of the landing gear and the backend of the canopy.
The Stukas, short form for "Sturzkampfbomber", was part of the main force in the ground support of the German Air Force since the start of the Blitzkrieg.,
Production of the Ju 87A-1 began in early 1937. They were fitted with the Jumo 210D engine and the HPA III propeller.
Later in 1937, a new Stuka with the Jumo 210Da engine was put into service, the Ju 87A-2, which can be distinguished by the cut rudder.
All Stukas from the A-2 version on were fitted with a sirene which was driven by a small propeller at the main landing gear when the plane went down. This was part of psycological warfare.
