LWS Land-Wasser-Schlepper, eary Type, Germ. Amphibious Tractor, 1/35 Plastic Model Kit.

One disadvantage of the LWS was the lack of armor, and armor was deemed necessary for any amphibious operations. The floating trailer was also thought to be too cumbersome and clumsy so a new scheme was devised. The overall structure of the LWS was kept, but the new vehicle had the trackwork and suspension of the commonly used PzKpfw IV to support a lightly armored superstructure. Two new vehicles, called Panzerfaehre or PzF, were built and designed to take a large pontoon between them to transport a tank or other cargo. Interesting on this design are the cape stand winch in the middle of the deck and the fold down air intakes. The driver sits in the front down and below and just before the air intakes. 

Thus the PzF would act as a ferry rather than a tractor. However, the program was canceled in 1942 after the two prototypes were built and tried. A pre-production of seven LWS II were built and they served on the Eastern front. After the war the LWS was taken by the British to England for technical assessment.

The Boxer is the latest wheel tank of German Bundeswehr and a fexible platform for many kinds of operations.

33t heavy it is the most heavy wheel vehicle of all its precestors but more versatile.

In Afghanistan the Boxer showed off his ccapabilities and became combat proofed.

The kit comes with rubber wheels and lot of exterior details.

Unfortunately no interior is provided so the ramp stays closed.

German Sd.Kfz.254 Tracked Armoured Scout Car, 1/35 Plastic Model Kit.

From 1936, the RR7 was developed by Saurer as an artillery tractor for the Austrian army. Testing was completed and in 1937, an order was placed for the tractors which were manufactured in 1938. About 12 vehicles were made prior to "Anschluss". After Austria was incorporated into Germany in 1938, the vehicle continued to be manufactured. Records indicate that a total of 140 units were built. The new designator for Germany was Sd Kfz 254. Notable features of this tank were its wheel-cum-track layout and a diesel motor.

Saint-Chamond, Fr. Heavy Tank, Early Type, 1/35 Plastic Model Kit.

The Saint-Chamond was the second French heavy tank of the First World War, with 400 manufactured from April 1917 to July 1918. Born of the commercial rivalry between the makers of the Schneider CA1 tank, the Saint-Chamond was an inadequate design. Its principal weakness was the "caterpillar" tracks . They were much too short in relation to the vehicle's length and heavy weight ( 23 tons ). Later models, however, attempted to rectify some of the tank's original flaws by installing wider and stronger track shoes, thicker frontal armor and the more effective 75mm Mle 1897 field gun. The Saint-Chamond tanks remained engaged in various actions until the late summer of 1918, belatedly becoming more effective after combat had moved out of the trenches onto open ground . Eventually, however, the Saint-Chamond tanks were scheduled to be entirely replaced by imported British heavy tanks.

Leopard 1A5 MBT, German Bundeswehr, Plastic Kit 1/35.

The Leopard is a main battle tank designed and produced in West Germany that first entered service in 1965.

Developed in an era when HEAT warheads were thought to make conventional heavy armour of limited value, the Leopard focused on firepower in the form of the German-built version of the British L7 105-mm gun, and improved cross-country performance that was unmatched by other designs of the era.

In total 6,485 Leopard tanks have been built, of which 4,744 were battle tanks and 1741 were utility and anti-aircraft variants, not including eighty prototypes and pre-series vehicles.
