The KV-1 was call by the Germans "The 50 Tonner", because of its weight of 52t.

One of the heaviest operational tanks at that time.

Because the additional armor of the KV-1 type craft prooft as too low and productiopn was inefficient too, a kind of new KV-1 was designed in 1942.

This was called KV-1 1942 and its characteristics consist in a armor that was enhance completely with then increase of production efficiency. The body armor was 75 millimeters up to 90 millimeters at the front, while the in armor of the turret front was 120 millimeters.
