M4A1 Middle Tank, US Army, WWII, 1/16 Plastik Kit.

The M4 A1 tank is the beginning of the M4 Family and was out dated when it strated its service already.

Poor armor, poor gun, low speed, no chance to survive.

The Germans nicknamed it "Tommykocher" or "Zippo" because of its intention to burst into flames after the first hit!

Only its numbers were a problem for the German Wehrmacht!

In general the M4 concept was a good one, mostly because it could be driven by anyone able to drive a car!

No long education needed!

But it needed an upgrade fast and so the M4 started its family.

M4A3E8, US Medium Tank - Early, 1/16 Plastic Kit.

The Sherman M4A3E8 HVSS early middle tank is the first to come from I Love Kit in 1/16 scale.

This tank was the "work horse" of the US Army in WWII and was built in various versions. It was continously redesigned and improved.

The M4 equalized its flaws by numbers of productions. A Tiger or Panther tank simply killed them with one shot, so it simply was produced in such numbers the Germans couldn't shoot them all. Also it tended to catch fire instandly, what led to the nickname "Zippo".

By release of the E8 version the heaviest gun was installed, the 76mm canon and also the better HVSS suspention. The E8 was the end of the M4 evolution, but was still in use during then 1960's in Israel.

The Kit contains the many details, T80 single link tracks, moving gear, machined gun barrel and MG barrel, photo etched parts and a commander figur!

M4A3 E8 Sherman, late WWII / Korean War, (HVSS), 1/16 Plastic Kit.

The Sherman M4A3E8 HVSS was the working mule of the US Army and served in several versions.

This tank was the "work horse" of the US Army in WWII and was built in various versions.

It was continously redesigned and improved.

The E8 was the end of the M4 evolution and sent to Krea after WWII because it was available in larger numbers then new tanks.

The Kit contains the lot of details, single T80 link tracks, moving gear, rubber coated wheels, photo etched parts and a resin commander figur!
